Second Week of Arthurs Plough Play

Today we begin the second week of Arthurs Plough and it looks like the weather may be a little kinder to us. Last week, two performances were held in Ben's barn and two were held in the Farmhouse garden. All were very successful and everyone had fun.

This will be the last EVER week of performances at Fordhall Farm, with the following weeks performances moving to Home Farm, Attingham, Shrewsbury.

If you would like to book tickets for this week, please buy them in advance as we can not guarantee they will be available on the door.

Please go to Ben's Farm Shop or ring 01630 638696.

Dear All,

My partner and I came along with my mum to see Arthurs Plough on June 27th and it was absolutely brilliant. Extremely funny and fantastically acted. Long may it reign!

If anyone told me that tha best night out I have had in ages would be spent ina barn in north shropshire, quite frankly I would have laughed at them.
But last week I spent a fantastic two and a half hours watching Arthurs Plough.
At times Chris Eldon-Lee's script and the actors delivery were hilarious. This is a production very obviously polished to perfection.

Pure Genius.

I am sure Arthur would have been proud.

How you managed to fight beats me The Lord and your Guardian Angels must
have all worked overtime to help plus a lot of energy and grit on your part.

Just to say what an absolutely fantastic performance on Saturday night - something
for everyone involved to be very proud of and something everyone locally should see.
Do you have any plans (or have you already) got anyone to video it? It would be very
good to be able to show to students, or at conferences on green care/sustainable
farming etc.

Hi John,
Yes the play has been recorded and will be available on dvd over the next few weeks. They will be £10 each and will be available direct from the farm.
We have all loved doing the play and so glad that you enjoyed it too. Hopefully next week in Shrewsbury will be just as good. Its a shame it will all be over after next week!

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening (Thurs.), and we thought the performance wes
excellent.
We think the Director deserved a curtain call. It was so well done.

Hi Charlotte, Ben, Hannah and all the volunteers, Thank you for a great
weekend at the farm! The play was great fun - we didn't know what to
expect but we really enjoyed it and laughed a lot. Thank you for
organising it, and for being its inspiration!! We also had a very nice
morning at the farm on Sunday and especially enjoyed walking round the
farm trail.
Best Wishes,

What a thoroughly enjoyable evening it was.

The paly and the performances were warm and joyous and celebrated things worth celebrating - the triumph of ordinary people and a kind of innocence that is frequently forgotten in life as in theatre.

Hi Charlotte, Hannah, Tracey et al,
Sue and I have just got back from a lovely weeked, enjoying your hospitality at the farm, looking around at the stock and land, and going to the play at Home Farm in the evening. We were very impressed with the play - quite poignant but great fun, and very well acted and produced.

As for the play - It was brilliant - a collection of so many different emotions -
very funny at times, very sad at times and so thought provoking. So much to reflect
and contemplate on for the future. I didn't really know what to expect from the play
but the performance was far better than I imagined it possibly could be. Despite
being amateurs what a professional performance it was - first class actors and
choir. The back drop of Fordhall must have been marvellous for the play especially
when in the garden but Home Farm was also a great location for the play although
from where I was sitting I kept thinking a hen or two would put in an appearance any
second, stage right, from the barn next door !!

Dear Chris,

Just to say once again, that I really enjoyed the play immensely. Fully
deserves all the plaudits.

Local, topical. funny and highly entertaining...and for me a city boy, very
informative. Brilliant!

Thanks so much!
