The Fordhall Community Land Initiative's AGM 2010

Last weekend Fordhall held its fourth ever AGM at the Beacon Community Centre in Market Drayton. It was a warm sunny day and people attended from all over the country. The AGM was informative and gave shareholders the chance to raise any questions about The FCLI that they may have had. Below are some of the main points that came out of the AGM.

* Everyone was excited about the renovation of the buildings but realises that we still have a lot of money to raise.

* The new logo for the FCLI was presented.

* The new FCLI staff were introduced.
* Everyone was given a farming update from Ben.

After the AGM and our delicious 'bring and share' lunch. Graham Harvey, the agricultural story editor of the Archers gave a talk on the importance of grass fed systems and wonderful stories of all his travels.

Thanks need to go to Ellie and Charlotte that supplied all the food all weekend, our fantastic board members and the Beacon Community Centre for their hospitality.

Please watch this space for a review and photographs from Sunday’s Farmers' Market at the farm!

Dear Charlotte
Thanks for the info.
Great news about the success of the Barn Dance and Open Day.
It was a really good weekend and a pleasure to be part of.
My thanks to you, Ben, Hannah, Becca and Beth in particular - brilliantly
organised, very well done.
Cheers for now
Michael

I thought Saturday went very well and many congratulations to Ellie and Other Charlotte for masterminding superb kitchen operations. Beacon was a
good venue, friendly, adequate size & lovely garden outside. Much enjoyed Lyn & friends music as well as everything else. Graham Harvey's talk deserved a full house. Good to be with everybody.
best wishes

Hi Charlotte,

The AGM was fantastic. There was a really nice feeling and people seemed to
want to stay and talk. I loved listening to Graham Harvey, it really
added to things. If you can create a day like that in a community centre
in Market Drayton I think having an amazing coffee shop on the farm will be easy for you.
take care,

Thanks again to everyone who contributed and worked so hard to make the day such a success ! As Philippa says, Graham Harvey deserved a full house ... the lunch seemed to go very well (big thanks to Ellie, Rob and the other Charlotte for juggling everything and meeting everyone's needs so well with such good humour). The evening do was great .. hope
the Open Day was equally good (sorry we didn't make it). I just wonder if it was rather a late start for the AGM? and time-keeping difficult, I know, but lunch very late ...
All the
best - Elaine + Bryan (Board member)
