FACE education visit at Fordhall

Idris talking about veg
Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting the Market Drayton Junior School here along with top chef Idris Caldora for a visit organised by FACE (Farming and Countryside Education).  The children donned their chef hats and learnt how to cook a spectacular feast consisting of a Fordhall beef burger with salad, followed by a summery fruit salad for dessert.
Preparing the salad
Idris taught them how to prepare a simple and healthy meal out of some fresh salad vegetables and our very own Fordhall minced beef, mixed with chives from our community garden to create a delicious burger.  The children went on a farm tour to learn about the providence of their food and upon their return, Idris cooked their handmade burgers on the BBQ.
I sat in the office above the courtyard with the BBQ smell wafting in through the window - luckily, they had some spare...it was delicious!
YUM!
